Brooklyn Bridge Engagement | Dumbo Engagement | Eric & Emily
Eric and Emily love their life in Brooklyn. With their wedding next summer about an hour north of NYC, they realized they wanted photos that celebrated the place where they fell in love. So, I headed over for a short day in New York. We had hoped for one of those wonderfully beautiful, bright, warm fall days. Instead, we got the edge of a hurricane and torrential rainstorm. But, these two are absolutely a joy to be around and we made the most of it. Darting into their favorite breakfast spots, a walk around Grand Army Plaza and then a late evening walk in DUMBO. I haven’t laughed as hard as we did as we jumped between the raindrops and enjoyed the history of this part of New York.
We started with a late brunch at R&D Foods. It’s a cute fine an incredible New York deli. It was just what we needed to start their Rosh Hashanah celebration.
We then wandered up to Grand Army Plaza and Prospect Park. When they first met, Eric lived within view of this monument. It’s always interesting to hear about life in an iconic place. It’s just so different to have this as part of your daily commute, rather than a stop on a tourist bus as it is for the rest of the world.
We took a short break from the rain and then headed down to DUMBO to finish the evening beneath the lights and guy wires of the Brooklyn Bridge.
We had to fight a bunch of other tourists to get to walk down this street. We couldn’t help but laugh our way through this “unknown gem” of DUMBO.
Thanks again to Emily and Eric for such a great day in NY. I can’t wait to come back next summer to celebrate!
