PNW Hiking Engagement | Backpacking Engagement | Amanda & Jay

On the way out to the mountains for Amanda and Jay’s PNW hiking engagement, we were chatting about work and why they live where they live. Jay admitted that he lives in Wenatchee specifically so that he can go play in the mountains as often as possible and that his work as a PA is there to enable that mountain play as often as possible. Once Amanda finishes med school (yea, they’re a REALLY smart couple), she was excited to be able to go play in the hills with him. So, it was only fitting that we would celebrate their love with some sunset photos deep in the Cascades (we logged about 14 miles that day).

I love these photos below because they show the realities of hiking engagements. You have to be able to do your makeup on tiny mirrors while swatting mosquitoes. It was the first time that I’ve had a conversation about different types of gel while backpacking.

You know, I think they like each other.

Thank you again to Amanda and Jay for this awesome hiking engagement session. It was just too fun and as I’ve been hiking a little less than normal due to Lena, it was good for my soul. I’m so excited to celebrate your wedding next summer!
