Elope somewhere beautiful and actually enjoy the day.

Eloping in Washington gives you a lot of possibilities.
Mountains, coastline, forests, islands. Some couples arrive with a clear plan. Others start with a place they love and build the day from there.
Either way, the goal is the same. A wedding day that feels natural and unhurried, and photographs that bring you back time and time again.

HI,I’M JOE

I’ve photographed weddings and elopements since 2011, and I’ve lived my whole life in Washington.

I help you choose a plan that fits, build a timeline with space, and adjust when weather or plans change.

My goal is simple. I want your day to feel easy to move through, so the photos feel like you.

What a Washington elopement can look like

It can be just the two of you, somewhere quiet, with enough time to breathe.
It can be a short hike, private vows, and a slow morning.
It can be a ferry ride, a beach, a cabin, and dinner with a few people you love.
No two days look the same. The goal is the same.
You get to be present, and you get photos that bring you back.

We cannot recommend JTobiason Photography enough! My husband and I traveled from Florida out to Washington to get married at Artist Point and when we were researching photographers Joe stood out to us. We were able to get on a Zoom call with him prior to hiring him and make sure everyone was on the same page expectation-wise and that our personalities all aligned.

When we actually got to wedding day Joe made everything so easy and made us feel extremely comfortable even though we’d never had professional photos taken before. We had planned on doing a pretty long hike and ended up changing plans on our way up the hike, Joe was still able to find us a beautiful location and make beautiful photos even though we’d deviated from the plan on him.

Joe is simply the best!!! We couldn’t have been happier with the services he provided and all the effort he went through to make sure our photos were authentic to us and truly represented our special day. Not only did Joe get up a 1AM for a sunrise engagement session with us in the North Cascades, he also helped us select a ceremony site in the mountains that made for perfect wedding day photos! He consistently goes above and beyond and made everyone feel extremely comfortable. He was one of our favorite vendors and we HIGHLY recommend Joe!!

Working with Joe for pictures of our wedding was an absolute pleasure. Joe was extremely responsive when planning and flexible with our plans when the weather didn’t fully cooperate. The energy he has for his work truly shows through the beauty of his photos. Simultaneously making us feel comfortable in front of the camera and finding truly amazing shots that captured the happiness during the day. We highly recommend Joe to anyone!

FAQ

No! I honestly believe that folks are a little obsessed with putting weddings into boxes. Whether you want something with just you and your partner on top of a mountain or with 300 of your best friends in an old church, I’m here to document the day!

As much as my heart resides in the PNW, I love the opportunity to photograph your wedding wherever I go. But, you’ll never take the Northwest out of me, no matter where we go.

I offer 2 main packages, an all-day package that starts at $5000 or a 3-hour coverage that starts at $3000.

After we’ve chatted, I charge a $500 deposit (+tax) to lock in your elopement date. We will also sign a contract at that point. The remaining fee will be due on the wedding day.

In general, you don’t need a permit to elope in Washington. Aside from private property, you usually only need a permit if you’re planning to get married within a National Park (that would be Rainier, Olympic or North Cascades). But, I can help you with that.

Also, you probably want a marriage license. That’s kinda important.

Why I became an Washington elopement photographer

YOu can elope anywhere

There are few places wilder than the Pacific Northwest. Whether you’re considering eloping on top of a mountain in the North Cascades , Mt Rainier National Park, or on the beaches of the Olympic Peninsula, your elopement options abound. There are so many beautiful options within just a few hours of Seattle that can create the wedding of your dreams.
