Katie & Rebekah | North Cascades elopement

The STORY

Dreams are found in the North Cascades

Katie and Rebekah flew across the country to climb into the North Cascades for a fall elopement that couldn’t have been more perfect.

The day

EXPECTATIONS WERE EXCEEDED

Congratulations to Katie and Rebekah on their beautiful sunset hiking elopement at Blue Lake in the North Cascades National Park of Washington State! As an adventure-loving couple, they chose the perfect location to exchange vows and celebrate their love.

Located in the North Cascades, Blue Lake is a stunning destination for hiking and outdoor enthusiasts. The lake sits at the base of several towering peaks and is surrounded by thick forests and wildflowers. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic elopement and a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

To make the most of their elopement, Katie and Rebekah decided to hike to the lake for their ceremony. The hike to Blue Lake is a moderate-to-difficult trail that winds through dense forests and crosses several streams. Along the way, hikers are treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the chance to see wildlife such as bears, elk, and mountain goats.

As the sun began to set, Katie and Rebekah reached the shores of Blue Lake. With the stunning mountain landscape as their backdrop, they exchanged heartfelt vows and exchanged rings. The intimate ceremony was the perfect way for them to celebrate their love and commitment to each other.

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a sunset picnic (sandwiches made by me) on the shore of the lake, surrounded by the beauty of the North Cascades. They hiked down the mountain as the last light of twilight lit the Liberty Bell and surrounding mountains before driving back to their AirBnB for dinner.

If you’re planning an elopement or a romantic getaway in the North Cascades, consider Blue Lake as a beautiful and unique location. Whether you prefer a sunset hike or a more leisurely stroll, the lake offers a range of activities for all levels of hikers. Just be sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and warm layers for your adventure.

Congratulations again to Katie and Rebekah on their beautiful elopement at Blue Lake! May your love continue to thrive and grow as you explore the beauty of the North Cascades and beyond.

For camera nerds, the wedding was photographed on 2 Canon R6 cameras on digital, while for film, a Leica M6 with Kodak Vision3 500T and a Hasselblad 500CM with Kodak Portra 400 was used.
