Kyle and Mikaela Engagement | Rattlesnake Ridge | Hiking Engagement Photos

Kyle and Mikaela’s hiking engagement photos were quintessentially PNW. Beyond just being clients, these two are especially special because Mikaela is Erika’s sister. Not only are we excited to make really fun images, but we get to invite new members into the family.

Both are big outdoors people and are really excited for their wedding in September in Sisters, Oregon. Before heading south for their wedding, we wanted to make images that really encapsulated the vibe of the NorthWest outdoors culture. We headed up Rattlesnake Ridge for an afternoon shoot. As with all days before July 5, the unofficial beginning of Summer in Seattle, we really didn’t know what we were getting into. In the car ride up, Erika made a bouquet, headband, and boutonnière for the couple. The fog was rolling in as we pulled into the parking lot.

When we reached the summit, we found a beautiful view, rainbows and an almost “fairy” feel to the day. Just as we finished making the images, the sky unloaded on us. Is there anything more PNW than running down a mountain in the rain? I love these two people and am so excited to call them both family!
