Deception Pass State Park Wedding | Emily & Eugene
Emily and Eugene’s Deception Pass State Park Wedding was so them. Though it seemed the sky was going to unload rain on us, the clouds literally parted as the ceremony started for a perfect celebration of these two. With their backs to this powerful waterway, they stepped forward into thir future, surrounded by friends and family from around the world.
There is something very special about the way that some folks combine the aspects of their lives.
Deception Pass State Park elopement
Deception Pass is a beautiful spot for a wedding or elopement. Whether you’re hoping to reserve a campsite, a picnic shelter or have a small ceremony on the beach itself there is nothing quite like this waterway to have your ceremony.
Note, Washington State Parks are not taking any event reservations due to COVID-19.
One of the best things about weddings like Eugene and Emily’s is that the state part aspects really allow you to make the day your own. It always takes a little more work, but you guest lists can be longer, your dreams bigger and the epic photos are just around the corner.
Wedding photos at Deception Pass
The most iconic spot at Deception Pass State Park for photos is the island in the middle of the pass. As you are crossing from the Fidalgo Island (basically the mainland, but techincally an island due to the waterway at La Conner) onto Whidbey Island, you will cross two steel bridges. In between them is a small island, right in the middle of the pass. There are some parking spots on the island (either side) or you’ll need to park on the N side of the bridges (Fidalgo side) and then walk. Either way, once you are on the island, there are a series of trails that lead you around to see the views and make photos in this epic spot.
Thanks again to Eugene and Emily for inviting me into this spectacular celebration! You guys made incredible memories yesterday!
