Black Diamond Gardens wedding | Chris & Kim wedding preview

I have been looking forward to Chris and Kim‘s Black Diamond Gardens wedding for a very long time. I try to take photos that radiate Joy, Relationship and Adventure, and these two are the poster children of Joy. As Kim walked down the dock to see Chris for their first look, the skies opened up and the sun broke through, just a little bit of divine addition to the joy that the day would hold.

I’m going to be totally honest and say that I’m such a sucker for grooms who cry during their weddings. I mostly say that as a groom who cried during his own. So, as I write this on my own anniversary, I loved seeing Chris’ emotion as Kim walked down the aisle, knowing that this day he had waited for a long time was really finally here.

Following the ceremony, we ducked out of the reception for a few peaceful minutes on the lake at sunset. Between the ivory pink skies, deep blue waters and the laughter that radiated across the lake, it was a wonderful pause in the middle of the wedding craziness.
