Fall Discovery Park engagement photos | Jeanie & James

Fall in the PNW is not necessarily what we brag about. We aren’t New Hampshire and have their leaf peeping. We aren’t some south western state, offering extended summers. It’s the time of the year when you aren’t sure what season you’re going to wake up for.

With that, it was a beautiful afternoon to spend with James and Jeanie for their fall Discovery Park engagement photos. I am so amazed by the joy and casual love that they hold. It’s so natural and easy to see how they laugh, smile and fit together so wonderfully.

I really like these two images, made on Kodak Tri-X film. I love the way that the shadows hold the detail and the warmth of the afternoon shines through, even in black and white.

Did I mention their joy? Come on! This is the laughter and pure happiness that we’re here for!

I don’t think it’s possible to beat the warm glow of a sunset over the Olympics.

Thanks again to James and Jeanie. It was a great afternoon and I can’t wait for their wedding this year at the Sculpture Garden!
