Engagement photos on the Bainbridge Island Ferry | Abi & Taylor
Like many transplants to the PNW, Abi and Taylor are getting married back home, but wanted to have photos that celebrated and showed off the beauty of the life they’re creating here in Seattle. So, it seemed only natural that we head out on the Puget Sound for the Washington State Ferries engagement photos on one of the nicest afternoons the Emerald City has to offer.
We met up on the Seattle waterfront, amid the chaos of tourists, Viaduct destruction, sailors in town for SeaFair, construction on the ferry terminal and so much other chance to the area. But, it was all peace as soon as the MV Wenatchee pulled away from Coleman Docks headed toward Bainbridge. I love these sessions because the 40-minute crossing is enough time to get to know people, make images, play around, get your hair tossed by the wind and laugh in the sunset before disembarking. It’s always a little bit of a whirlwind, but Abi and Taylor laughed their way across the decks and floors, just being too happy to be together on such a fantastic evening.
One thing we learned during the session was that you should always dance in the street, especially outside a winery. Sometimes the joy is so contagious you get to take home a bottle of rosé. Thanks to Eleven Winery for being awesome.
After a short stint on Bainbridge Island, we grabbed the boat back under cover of darkness and watched the glow of the city welcome us back home.
Thanks again to Abi and Taylor for a wonderful engagement session. I can’t wait to see your photos from your wedding in GA next year. I know it’s going to be a beautiful celebration!
