“Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood.”

        -Andy Goldsworthy

It was just too nice! Sarah and Zach were just back from the cold of visiting their families in Pittsburgh, so we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather and headed up to Snoqualmie Pass for a sunny Gold Creek Pond engagement shoot under the bluest skies. What more could you ask for in March?

When I met Sarah and Zach for the first time, we were talking about them transplanting to the city for work. “Ok, so which one of you works for Amazon?” I asked. We all laughed, but they really feel like true Seattleites with their small SUV, love for the mountains and REI memberships. It made the day just too perfect.

Alongside my normal digital photos, I also shot a roll of expired Fujichrome film on my medium format camera and then developed it through a cross process. I know, that’s some photography technobabble, but it was a fun thing. They turned out kinda strange so I ended up putting them in black and white. I guess that is why you try things, right?

I can’t thank Sarah and Zach enough for meeting me. It was so beautiful and fun to wander around the pond with them. I’m really excited for their celebration at Salish Lodge in just a few months. It’s going to be great!
