Fall days in the mountains are something special. Though the leaves in the city are beautiful, the change from season to season is so apparent at higher altitudes. So, it was a perfect way to spend a sunny day, making images that celebrate a life transition with Joe and Teresa in the middle of the Cascades. We headed up for their Rattlesnake Lake Engagement photos and the sun was just too bright and wonderful.
Rattlesnake Ledge gets all the love up there, but the lake too is something wonderful. I the old trees that have been submerged and it was really fun to laugh and joke with Joe and Teresa as we tried to avoid the muddy spots.
These two just smiled the whole time. It was wonderful. I can’t get enough of people who really actually like being around each other.
My favorite prompt for couples is “kiss him like you mean it.” It always illicit some awesome emotion.
After Rattlesnake, we hopped in the car and headed a little up the I-90 corridor to Franklin Falls. Just then, the sun burst through and I couldn’t even believe how stunning the morning became.
Franklin Falls is a great walk, but because of the short distance and awesome reward, it’s always full of families. Nothing makes you feel more rugged than walking a path next to a 3 year old in rubber boots.
But, the reward is worth it. This stunning drop of water, juxtaposed with these two folks in love, it really makes the day wonderful!
Thanks again to Teresa and Joe for an awesome engagement. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer too!
