Andy and Ginna’s First Presbyterian Richmond wedding was stunning. It was an absolutely joy to photograph. This was the first wedding that I’ve had the opportunity to work outside the great state of Washington and it was really fun to see how even within the national borders, traditions are different, but things like weddings bring us all together.
Andy and Ginna met while at university at TITLE. Later, Ginna was doing an internship at a church in Kansas. Andy went to visit her and brought ruby slippers, to help sweep her home (side note, while on the East Coast, Erika and I got to see the real ruby slippers at the Smithosonian too).
First Presbyterian Richmond is a really beautiful church. It’s amazing to see paintings of the founders on the walls that date back to before the Louisiana Purchase.
Andy looked so sharp that day. Well done!
Isn’t the church beautiful? It feels so full of history and classic beauty. Also, the light was just stunning. I really enjoyed photographing here.
Thank you Andy and Ginna for having fun with me while trying some techniques. I had fun with the Brenizer Method here to achieve the width of the photo along with the shallow depth of field.
I’m really impressed by the work of Nicola Flora. If you’re getting married in Richmond, VA, do check them out.
This moment is one of my favorites at every wedding. I am usually allowed to see quiet emotion and excitement between the wedding party and the start of the ceremony. It was beautiful to see Ginna with her parents, smiling and laughing about the next moments.
They’re a good looking family and friends, if I do say so myself.
Note to all groomsmen, throwing your groom into the air and throwing him around is always a good idea (provided you are all still “stable”).
Thank you again to Ginna and Andy for inviting me to photograph their wedding. I really enjoyed getting to know the right coast (check out #rightcoastroadtrip on Instagram for more photos) and hope to go back sometime soon.
