I love traveling for weddings. It is so special to see the different cultures around the country and the way that they celebrate newlyweds. It was an absolute honor to photograph Chenoa and Jose’s Pittsburgh Riverboat Wedding at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. I had met Chenoa the December before while we were both on a delegation to Peru during the UN Climate talks. It was fun to hear her and Jose’s story of how they had met and fell in love in Bolivia. When she said they were going to be married that summer, I knew I wanted to make images with them.
Seriously, how beautiful is this church? It is absolutely astounding with the size, depth and quality of workmanship that makes it. In short, it was a wedding photographer dream.
Way to rock it Chenoa!
I loved how many people the couple included in the ceremony. Between readers, candle lighters, ushers, bridesmaids and groomsmen, everyone had their own part to play. It was a beautiful ceremony that celebrated Jose’s Bolivian heritage, was partly in Spanish and was in the courtyard to celebrate the couple’s love for the outdoors. It was truly them.
Yea, they kinda like each other!
For the reception, everyone headed down to a riverboat. It was a fantastic way to keep everyone together in the party, show off the beauty of Pittsburgh at night and make special memories.
Also, what a fantastic dance party.
Thank you again to Chenoa, Jose and your wonderful families for inviting me into the day. You are all truly wonderful people!
