We’ve all heard it. Change is the skill of 2020. There is so much happening in life and everyone has to adjust. But, in that, we find ways to make our lives happen, thrive and to lift up those around. As I started to photograph Chen and Felicia’s invitations for their wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Nigel in Southern California, I was just struck by the fact that the date and locations on those papers are wrong. But, to compare that with the joy of the ceremony and to see Felicia dancing with her masked father, it was a day that exceeded expectations.
I always love personal vows. I’m sorry that I never wrote those for Erika (I guess it’s never too late), but they’re always such an intimate look into a couple’s relationship. It’s fun to see when there are common themes between both parties. For Chen and Felicia, it was their personal dictionary, their passion, their adventurous nature (Our 20-mile hiking engagement session to the Enchantments was mentioned quite a few times), and their plans to make a life together.
I also need to thank the incredible teams who made this day possible. Thank you to everyone who put in their sweat and hours to make this day so special.
