April and Jenny’s Cascade Mountains engagement photos couldn’t have been a better representation of the love between these two. We wanted a session that is full of laughter, the outdoors and fun. So, we piled the canoe they had purchased last minute for a different trip on top of their car and headed up into the mountains for a sunset paddle. It was really fun to pull out on the half-empty Keechelus Lake and slide around the stumps. At one point, I found my feet ankle-deep in mud, but it was totally worth it to get the right angle of them floating across the smooth evening lake.

Then, when we put cameras and the canoe away for the night, we sat on the tailgate, drank a beer and watched the alpenglow fade. I really love getting to know the awesome people I get to work with. These two are awesome humans.

Aside from the normal digital images, I also made two rolls of film in this engagement session as well. I used my Mamiya RZ67 with a roll of Kodak Portra 400 and a roll of Lomography 800. I love these bold colors and the depth that the unique lenses this camera uses.

It’s only a few days until their wedding. It’s going to be a blast. I’m seriously beside myself.
