“My favourite places on earth are the wild waterways where the forest opens its arms and a silver curve of river folds the traveller into its embrace.”

        -Rory MacLean

For years, I have wanted to do an engagement shoot along Highway 2 in Washington. I know that is a really unspecific location. Who just wants to do their shoot right next to a road? Well, I’m really thankful to Caleb and Nina for being up for the adventure and this PNW sunset engagement shoot along the Skykomish River. With that wild backdrop, the deep colors of the Northwest shone through and it was exactly what I had dreamed of.

We started the session by just wandering down to the Skykomish River near the trailhead for Lake Serene. It’s a lovely little spot because the teal water is flowing quickly and I loved photographing under the bridge. It was also so beautiful to see the bright mountains just above the river.

Our second spot is one of my favorites along this area. This was the planned spot and it has been a little corner of the PNW that I’ve wanted to use in engagements for quite a while. It’s a lovely place because it’s secluded, the color of the water is incredible and it’s just so intimate.

Thank you again to Caleb and Nina for being up to going to such a random place. I’m so excited for their wedding this summer. It’s going to be glorious!
