One of my favorite parts of weddings is getting to see how families come together. There could not be a better representation of families unifying than Abby and Nate’s Whidbey Island backyard wedding. They has the most wonderful day of spending time together, smiling, laughing, playing lawn games and then pulled it all together into the most heartfelt ceremony I’ve seen in a long time (I’ll admit it, I was totally crying by the end of the service).
One hint to everyone. On your wedding day, go for a swim. You will feel great.
I love wedding days that allow me to hang out and just relax with the wedding party. These guys were so relaxed, happy and just fun to be around as Nate wrote his vows, had some whiskey and just enjoyed the sunny afternoon.
One thing that really made this wedding special was Nate’s kids. Both brought such wonderful smiles to the day and were so fun to see them attach themselves to Abby as this family now stands together.
Also, wedding tacos are awesome.
Once everyone arrived at the wedding site, it was a fun afternoon of smiles, laughter and backyard games. There was just joy.
I love these photos of the family getting together. This wedding was for everyone.
First looks are the best.
This wedding was such a coming together of families. I am still so impressed with the intention, care and way that Abby and Nate incorporated the kids into the day.
Also, did I mention how pretty this place is?
In the moment that brought everyone to tears, once they had finished vows to each other, Abby and Nate read vows to the kids about the way they are going to be incorporated into their lives together!
Then, it was time to party.
Even for grandma (and eventually the cops too)!
Once again, thank you to Abby and Nate for this spectacular wedding day.
