It has been such a joy to watch as Nate and Brea have grown together. I’ve loved seeing these 2 people come from very different parts of my life and somehow come together in our Seattle community. Brea and I worked together on projects in Latin American Politics back at Whitworth University while Nate and I shot hoops at Camp Spalding (though he did more “making” while I was just “shooting”). In Seattle, these two have been so beautiful in the intention and care that they’ve taken to the progress, even up until their romantic New York City engagement in the snow (He stripped down to a suit when she wasn’t looking and proposed!). If that’s how he proposes, the wedding will be something special!
For our engagement photos, we decided to just enjoy what a normal Seattle Saturday would provide, just with a wedding photographer trailing along. We ventured out to their favorite spots in Discovery Park (totally not spiked hot cocoa in hand) as well as Caffe Vita. We witnessed a slightly jaring rendition of the opening scenes of The Hunger Games as performed by agroup of 7 year olds. Brea gloated lifetime lead in cribbage, while Nate did many things, like lifting trees and stuff…… Their calm an casual nature made the shoot an absolute joy. It is just truly fun to photograph people who are in love and comfortable with that. I am truly blessed to call you friends and look forward to their wedding in August with some very Seattle wedding photography
